GISRUK 2020 Logo Competition

Help us to develop a new GISRUK logo!

Evaluation Procedure & Award

For the 2020 edition of the Geographical Information Science Research UK conference (GISRUK), we want to refresh our brand with a new logo, moving on from the 2010s into a new exciting decade for GIScience research!

Some things to bear in mind:

  • The full name of the conference is "Geographical Information Science Research UK"
  • The logo might include a map or be more abstract
  • If a map is used in the logo, the representation should be coherent and not include territory that is not part of the UK
  • Transparent background and, ideally, two versions for dark and light backgrounds
  • Circular and rectangular versions for the website and social media accounts
  • The colour scheme could be maintained from the current logo, but new colour schemes are possible

Evaluation Procedure & Award

The submitted logos will be evaluated by the GISRUK Steering Committee in terms of quality, originality, and clarity. The winner will have their registration fee waived for GISRUK 2020. The conference will take place in London on 21-24 April 2020. Please note that we reserve the right not to give the award.

Submit your logo in a zip file (svg and pdf formats) by email to with subject "GISRUK 2020 logo submission" by Friday 12th July 2019 (6:00 pm GMT).
