Airport: The best way from Glasgow Airport to the city centre is by Glasgow Express Bus number 500, £8.50 . The bus travel time from Glasgow Airport to Glasgow city centre is around 20 minutes. Taxis are plentiful and are adjacent to the exit doors. The taxi fare from Glasgow airport to Glasgow city centre/University of Glasgow is around £25.
Train: The two main railway stations in Glasgow are Central Station and Queen Street Station, between the two of them they provide connections to not only the rest of Scotland but also almost anywhere in the UK, including direct links to London. Glasgow Queen Street Train Station has a linked walkway to Buchanan Street Subway. Both stations have taxi ranks within a minute’s walk from the station.
Subway: The Subway is the easiest way to get around the City Centre and West End of Glasgow. Running every four minutes at peak times, it takes just 24 minutes to complete a circuit of the fifteen stations. Alight at Hillhead for University Of Glasgow. It is approximately 0.5 miles from the Hillhead subway station to the James Watt Building.

The University of Glasgow is situated in the West End, with a variety of small hotels and guest houses nearby, as well as links to the City Centre hotels by Subway. The closest Subway station to the main University campus is Hillhead and the closest stations for the City Centre are Buchanan Street and St. Enoch. Hotels near these stations are suggested below.
